We forgive not because we have no genuine reasons to be angry, but for Christ’s sake. There are thousand and one reasons why you should be angry but for the sake of one good reason, forgive. You could be hurt for many days, but forgiveness will free you for many years. The Scribes and Pharisees had many reasons to stone the adulterous woman to death, but Jesus said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first” John 8:7. Get this: A man cursed a boy who insulted him. The curse was that never should he bear a child in his adult life to refer to him as a father. Many years later, the man forgot the boy. The boy grew up and became a prosperous man. He ended up marrying the curser’s only daughter. Who do you think the curse will affect most? Think of it!
Meditate on this: Forgive because God forgives you. Mathew. 6:12.
Declare this: Dear LORD, help me (full name) to be able to forgive in all pain in Jesus Christ name!
PRAYER: As you declare, may the LORD heal your wounds and help you to overcome every situation in Jesus Christ name!
